Book excerpt: The Iglesia Ni Cristo or INC started in the Philippines in 1914 and has a Unitarian theology. What makes it unique is it boasts the Bible contains dozens of prophecies of their founder (Felix Manalo), their church, and the Philippines. It loudly proclaims it's the only "True Church" and all who refuse to convert will suffer eternal torment in the "lake of fire." It also imposes a level of control over its members that is abnormal in today's free societies, such as dictating to whom to vote, imposing public shunning and humiliation of disciplined or former members, and "discouraging" its members from conducting independent Bible study. This book examines and refutes every INC claim of prophetic fulfillment. It scrutinizes the INC assertion of exclusive authority to baptize and establishes the utter futility of its baptism since Felix Manalo cannot give what he does not have. This book also examines the Bible's teachings on the person of Jesus Christ and provides specific passages demonstrating the Bible teaches he is also "God" in addition to being a man. Lastly, it also provides proof that the Bible teaches the Holy Spirit is a sentient entity who is also "God."
