The user interface is based on a high-level model of simply reading and writing user variables. This approach decouples the user's interface from the low level Modbus-related functions implementing the Modbus commands. This stands in contrast to the common approach of assembling together a number of Modbus functions and then requiring the user to write additional code to integrate the user's code with the Modbus functions.
