Book excerpt: The publication expands the researched issue of helping professions in relation to sexuality with the topic of the individual's personality and his attitude to sexuality in the context of the need for readiness for professional practice. It is scientifically focused on research into attitudes, beliefs and values related to human sexuality, including people with mental disabilities, from the perspective of representatives of the helping professions. The topic is supported by opinions on communication problems on sexual issues in general, as well as opinions on abilities and skills to discuss and pass on information in the field of human sexuality, including people with mental disabilities. We consider it necessary to improve the professional readiness of persons for helping professions in relation to human sexuality in the level of knowledge and professional didactics, because the results of the research showed the respondents perceived insufficient professional readiness.
