Book excerpt: Many managers, entrepreneurs as well as researchers have been paying increasing attention to the concept and importance of Organizational Learning (OL) and Learning Organization (LO)in the last few decades. However, it seems that much of the exposition remains at conceptual level. Real life success stories of OL implementation are few and far between. Our idea of the needed OL model was based on the belief that project team and action learning could be integrated into an implementation framework. We called this OL framework Project-based Action Learning or PAL. PAL is the OL vehicle for the LO journey. PAL has been successfully adopted in industrial settings for a decade. PAL is built on the theoretical foundation of action learning, uses clearly defined project goals, project process and team setting to drive both individual as well as team learning in a systematic way. This guidebook is intended for management and practitioners, who are attracted by the promises of LO concept. PAL is the tried and tested OL vehicle for this LO journey. This guidebook gives the step-by-step operational procedures related to the building up of PAL driven OL Program.
