Book Synopsis On the Theory of Radiative Transitions in Heavy Nuclei by : Kurt Gottfried

Download or read book On the Theory of Radiative Transitions in Heavy Nuclei written by Kurt Gottfried and published by . This book was released on 1953 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "A complete description of the low-energy radiation from a single nucleon moving in a central field is presented. The electric and magnetic multipole matrix elements, and the corresponding transition strengths, are calculated. The angular corrections to the Weisskopf estimates determined in this way are found to be considerable in the case of magnetic type radiations and have the effect of lowering the experimental transition probabilities well below the theoretical ones." --
