Note from Author: It is because of my 5 year old daughter Lili-Jade that the idea for this story came about. She said to me one day, "Mama, I wish everyone could be happy all the time, like at Christmas time." I asked her what she thought we could do to make people happy. "Maybe if we gave love to everyone, that would make them happy," she replied. This got me thinking what a little girl could do to show people love. I decided that creating something with her hands with love as the intent could be an idea. Lili-Jade picked up her scissors and cut out a heart and told me to write a message on the inside. It went something like this, "I give this love to you, pass this on to give love too." Lili-Jade and her sister Sophie have made many Love Tokens for friends and family! In this story Peggy McGee is a free spirited little girl who is made fun of because of the way she dresses. In the end her classmates feel terrible for what they said and decide to make her Love Tokens. This book teaches unconditional love which we see between Peggy and her mother, and also the value of accepting people for who they are. A fantastic story for family reading time! Happy Reading, Stephanie Horwood
