Book excerpt: "This book explores the sexuality of gay and bisexual men in terms of both men's sexuality in a holistic sense and in terms of how this translates into meaningful action in terms of prevention of HIV. The authors highlight the struggles faced by HIV-positive gay and bisexual men as sexual beings and also describe the myriad ways in which many of these men are able to celebrate their sexuality and have satisfying sex lives that support their own and their partners' physical and mental health. The volume presents all of the dimensions of the sexual lives and behaviors of HIV-infected gay and bisexual men. It explains what is at stake as gay and bisexual men attempt to come to terms with the meaning of HIV in their sexual lives and the risks and gambles associated with disclosure and sharing information that may say something about one's past but certainly speaks volumes about how that person is going to live and relate in the future. Most important, this book uses that information to construct an approach to HIV prevention that goes beyond a health education or cognitive-behavioral approach and attempts to place HIV prevention within a sexual context."
