Book excerpt: This was the second virtual meeting to initiate WHO’s new area of work on connecting healthy development and healthy ageing throughout the life course, following the first in June 2022. The meeting put into practice the approach to collaboration that will draw on everyone’s expertise and interest. Over 120 participants joined from all six WHO regions. Participants included persons from life course centres, experts in individual life stages – including children, adolescents, adults and older adults – members of the Consortium on Metrics and Evidence for Healthy Ageing (CMEHA) – including academics, civil society representatives and policy-makers – as well as staff from WHO and other international agencies.
