The disruption of mortgage market during 2007-2008 put both households and financial institutions in distress. Mortgage related laws and policies had significant impacts on both of them, as well as the macroeconomy. My dissertation focuses on understanding households' behaviors under foreclosure laws and the implication of mortgage risks on lenders' market expansion.
