Book excerpt: The results of the study failed to support the research hypothesis. Specifically, the job satisfaction IAT did not demonstrate a meaningful and significant relationship with individuals leaving their organization over the four-month period following the first phase of the research study. Furthermore, both of the explicit, self-report measures, the JIG scale and ITL question, demonstrated a meaningful and significant relationship with individuals leaving their organization. In the current study, the conscious self-report responses from participants on the JIG scale and ITL question provided significantly more value in predicting the likelihood of an individual leaving an organization when compared to the job satisfaction IAT to predict other employee behaviors, beyond an individual leaving an organization.
