In the late 1960s and early 1970s, this wasn't always the prevailing expression. As an eighteen-year-old teen, I was asked to fight a war on the other side of the world or I could flee. I chose to fight. I was marching and being gassed in protest of the Vietnam War one weekend and siting in a navy boot camp three days later, where I learned how to march correctly and was gassed again. From day 1, I saw and felt the surrealness of the situation. I couldn't help but keep a journal. Through boot camp, I kept most of the journal with the yeoman. He kept them in a file in the COs office. This is my story, and I'm sticking with it. I hope you enjoy the adventure.
