It was the most extensive display so far of the shamanic collections of Kunstkamera, Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography, founded in the 1720s by Peter the Great. In addition to exploring aspects of Siberian shamanhood, the 19 essays also show links to similar traditions elsewhere in the world. There are a few monochrome illustrations. No index is provided.
