Book excerpt: This is an autobiography of a man with simple beginnings who volunteered for the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and fought for our country's freedom. From a small community in St. Louis to the jungle of Vietnam under extreme circumstances, Harry's personal experiences begin with the relationships he built with his Marine "brothers" to the gut wrenching, terrifying battles of combat. This foundation paved the way for his performance during his many assignments at the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department over a 38 year period. Whether it was District work or that of a specialized unit such as Crimes Against Persons, Internal Affairs, Intelligence Unit, etc., some of the cases that Harry worked and solved are detailed here. Beyond the strong relationships he developed with his coworkers are those relationships he walked away from because of the consequences he would not accept. No one could sway Harry from the values he held dearly and it was those values that ultimately spurred the reputation Harry earned over a stunning career.
