Book excerpt: The Commission on Extraterritoriality in China, composed of representatives of the United States of America, Belgium, the British Empire, China, France, Denmark, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, and Sweden, was established in accordance with Resolution V and additional resolutions adopted by the Washington Conference on the Limitation of Armament on December 10, 1921. It met in the city of Peking on January 12, 1926, and began immediately its inquiry into the present practice of extraterritorial jurisdiction in China and into the laws, judicial system, and methods of judicial administration of China.
