The present work uses EFT to study the Coulomb effects in protonproton scattering. The Coulomb phase shift for elastic scattering is calculated. The calculation done here are on a lattice with periodic boundary conditions, and has a hard spherical wall imposed on it. The scattering inside the sphere produces spherical standing waves, the properties of which are exploited to calculate the phase shift and then compared with known theoretical calculations.
