The early Shaver ancestor, Andrew Shaver, was born ca. 1700, and he lived in South Carolina. The grandparents of Ora L. Shaver on her father's side were William H. Shaver and Sarah A. Amason both of Montgomery, Alabama and on her mother's side Joseph A. Freeman of Sumter, S. Carolina and Sarah Hodge of Alabama. The early Amason ancestor, Benjamin Amason Sr., died before Feb. 1793 in Edgecombe Co., North Carolina. Family members live in Alabama, South Carolina, Michigan, Georgia, Mississippi and elsewhere.
