Nineteen tribes are dwelling in Tripura. Among them the Reangs are termed as primitive. They dwell in most interior part of the state. Except some few educated persons most of them remain aloof from this advanced society. They live in deep forest depending on jhum cultivation. Still they are groveling in the dark surrounding of the forest. In this novel I have tried to delineate their joy and woe, their hope and aspiration. But it is not easy to express one's true being. I have gone to different parts of interior Tripura and fried to study the tribal communities. But to study a community from inside is quite different from that from outside.
