These funds are awarded by the Minnesota Legislature to a variety of public and private entities. The Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund is one of four "legacy" funds created by a constitutional amendment approved by the voters in 2008. The amendment increased the state's sales tax to provide additional funding for outdoor heritage, clean water, parks and trails, and arts and cultural heritage.
