At the top were of course royalty and nobility. At the bottom was the peasantry. In third place were the skilled journeymen. That included physicians, builders, artists, and the like. Sandwiched between this group and the upper-class were the Bards. These were the story tellers. They were the historians who kept the legends and legacies of the past alive. The Bards spent many years as apprentices before they were given their full credentials. They were required to memorize word for word the countless tales of old, of feats of the bold and daring, the victories of the warriors, the genealogies of the clans, and accounts of the lives of the patriarchs and matriarchs of the days of old. The Bards were highly regarded and well respected by all. In my own upbringing, it was clear by all the early indicators that I might grow up to be a storyteller like one of the Bards of old. I was long winded and included every detail in recounting the chronological sequence of my stories. I described everything with colorful details, I told of the emotional ambiance and the charged atmosphere. I wove into the story details with intriguing facts that became a tapestry of monumental beauty. And just about the time I should have stopped recounting what had happened I was just getting warmed up. I went on and on adding visions of things that also happened, but only in my own imagination. I personalized it, I embellished it and before I was done it had become more fiction than fact. Being a storyteller who lacked the ability to separate facts from fiction did not help me in getting off to a good start in life. Because of this I lacked credibility and that showed up in all areas of my life. I found failure rather than success because of it and from this I made one of the world greatest discoveries into the field of Murphy's Law. So much so that I became the world's foremost expert on the topic of Murphy's Law. In order to share these discoveries with the world I found I was unable to simply pass this information on objectively. It became absolutely necessary for me to also put it into subjective context, the context of my life, if it was true or not. And so it is that I unreservedly share this story with you on these pages that follow. This is the story of my life. MFP Murphy, Esq.
